Sunny soul from the southern states

You will certainly remember the hit "All I Wanna Do". 17 years ago, he made Sheryl Crow and her "Tuesday Night Music Club" world famous. Since then, the American singer has released five more albums, survived a breast cancer illness and the failed relationship with cycling pro Lance Armstrong and adopted a little boy three years ago.

Now the 48-year-old singer embarks on a musical journey to her southern homeland. Their new seventh studio album "100 Miles from Memphis" recalls the sound of Stevie Wonder and Al Green, soul mixes with reggae and pop elements. In contrast to previous albums on which Crow also dealt with political issues, "100 Miles from Memphis" is more direct and open. "I wanted to try to write something very simple and positive," the singer said about her new songs. As a guest she has invited Justin Timberlake, Citizen Cope and Keith Richards to the studio. The result is a harmonious summer album, relaxed and airy and just right for balmy evenings on the terrace.
