Tent sites in Europe

Austria: Attersee

Camping with private beach Heated outdoor pool and sauna! On a campsite! We are then swimmers in the Attersee, on the banks of the place is located - with private beach only for us guests, with clear water and views of the mountains. At best, it is even better to jump back from the diving platform after many years - with start-up, without thinking. Then play volleyball. Then barbecue. And chat with the neighbors. No permanent campers, who stand one place further, but a nice mix: families and hikers, cyclists and pensioners.

Germany: Prerow / Darß

No cars far and wide The softest sand you can put your feet in is the dunes of Prerow on the Darß. And that's exactly where the tents of the rainbow camp stand. The cars are left far behind. Arrival and departure are a drudgery, even if there are handcart for the luggage transport. In between, however, one lives barefoot, the sea in front of the nose, the pines of the coastal forest behind and above it only sky and expanse. And if you - back home - the sand still weeks or months later in trouser pockets and glasses case, you will always homesick for summer, beach and tent.

Germany: Baltic Sea island Fehmarn

The kite surfers in view The first time at the Fehmarn campsite Wulfener Hals: love at first sight! So that the love is permanent, I immediately booked a beautifully decorated caravan, only twenty meters from the foaming sea, for the next summer. With a view of the kite surfers - and for my daughter's there was a children's course in the surf school on the square. The associated lake is perfect beginners area. Pirate ship and diving school are also available.

Germany: Mecklenburg Lake District

With canoe and dog This campsite has not only a charming view of the great Labussee in the Mecklenburg Lake District to offer tourist attractions. But he does not have to. The canoe is best brought by yourself, park it next to the tent, and then you should do nothing but paddle the water all day long. And you can hear it, except for a few isolated sports boats - nothing. Are the arms lame from paddling: swim! This even works together with the dog, who is officially allowed to go into the water on one part of the bank. The sanitary facilities are exemplary, the groundsman helpful and nice. Supermarkets and restaurants are in the next larger places Mirow or Neustrelitz.

Germany: Lower Saxony

Horse with it As a child, I had a best friend, whose pony lived on a horse ranch in Clues in the district Diepholz in Lower Saxony. Since my and their parents got along well, we often spent the weekends with our caravan on the idyllic campsite "Zum Hachetal". The area is breathtakingly beautiful, I have met her on wonderful long rides. Your own horse can be accommodated at one of the many guesthouses in the area. If you do not have one, you can rent one. And those who have nothing to do with four-legged friends, who simply drives into Bremen 20 km away for culture and spend money.

Denmark: North Jutland

At the end of the road lies the sea I drove my motorhome through Scandinavia from my parents twelve summers. The last stop on our trips was always the same: the Guldager campsite. When the gravel begins shortly after the village church, the holiday begins for me: a broad beach, summer-yellow grain fields, farms. And at the end of the road is always the sea. Being happy is especially good in Guldager.

Germany: Eifel

Murmured to sleep by the stream Anyone who thinks that the Eifel is the most beautiful hiking region in the world is absolutely right. Especially in Perlenau. The 300-kilometer-long Eifelsteig leads past the nature campsite. You can come whenever you want, and choose any free parking space. Think about it: think ahead of time when you want to have sun, and set up the tent right there. In the afternoon take a trip to the medieval half-timbered town of Monschau (1.5 kilometers away). And when the Perlbach mumbles you to sleep in the evening, even non-romantics get warm.

Germany: North Sea Island Amrum

In the middle of the dunes The island of Amrum is small, but the freedom of camping Amrum is endless. Almost a bit too good to be true, it lies in the middle of the fine white dunes, on Kniepsand off the west coast. As a family we were always welcome, walked over the boardwalk to the nearby nature reserve or the Wittdüner lighthouse. Also, the water park and of course the wide beach are within walking distance - even for small feet - easily accessible. For the bare necessities, there is a well-stocked grocery store, which is cooked in the communal kitchen. Because it's so nice here, many regulars come back every year to the Amrum dunes.
