Woman bakes bread with yeast from the vagina
While Zoe Stavri is struggling with the side effects of a vaginal yeast infection, she made an unusual decision: The additionally formed vaginal secretions due to the infection should become an ingredient of a home-made bread.
The feminist blogger, who writes on Twitter under the name "Another Angry Woman", documented her experiment in the social media. And, unsurprisingly, that made for shared opinions.
Zoe, who claims to have a strong, perverted sense of humor, wanted more than a conventional drug treatment.
Her goal was to make the most of her situation. And that literally killed her. To get to the required vaginal fluid, she used a dildo. It should form the basis of the sourdough. Zoe added flour and water and observed the fermentation process in the following days. She documents this for all the curious with her camera.
On her blog, she also explains why vaginal fungus is no reason for disgust: Yeast mushrooms are omnipresent in our kitchen air. They live on our kitchen appliances and multiply there. In addition, they have been a major ingredient in sourdough bread for millions of years.
All she has done is mix a bit of her own yeast into the dough.
What's important to Zoe Stavri is that people finally stop trying to find everything that happens in connection with a vagina.
Nevertheless, we will stay with conventional bread recipes in the future.
