Do-it-yourself massages

Massage that relaxes the neck and back muscles

For neck and shoulders: Place your palms on your shoulders and use your fingertips to squeeze your shoulder girdle and neck. Then massage with small circular movements (keep elbows always up). Approximately two minutes. To crank up the blood circulation in the upper back, clench your left hand to a fist and lightly pat against the right shoulder. Approximately a minute. Change sides.

Relieves tension in the lower back: Clench your hands into a fist, gently drumming off the sacral area, hips and buttocks. Do not come to the spine. Approximately one to two minutes.

Massage for the hands, which stimulates the reflex zones

Relaxed: Fold hands and massage the inner surface of one hand with the thumb of the other in small circles. Then release the fingers and bend the right ring finger - press the point where it touches the palm of the hand with your thumb, about seven seconds. Repeat three times. Then change hands and repeat exercises. Finally, rub your hands vigorously as with washing - this increases blood circulation.

Brings energy: Rub the outside of the thumb of the right hand with the inside surface of the left. Bale your left hand and knead the palm of your hand. Press the diaphragm line along with the flat tip of the thumb (see hatched line in the photo). Then massage with your thumb from the diaphragm line in the direction of the finger. Change hands.

Massage for tired feet

Sit down, put your right foot over your left knee. (For more stability: slightly support the foot with your left hand.) 1. Spread the instep generously with the curved palm of the hand. 2. Clench your hand into a fist and press your ankles to the sole (from the arch of the foot to the ball). Alternative: Press with both thumbs in the middle of the foot arch - to the toes. 3. Then take right foot in the left hand (thumb on the inside, fingers on the outside) and press the edges from heel to toe in a gentle rhythm. 4. Then with the loose fist the foot around "scrub". Ankles and heel with thumb and fingertips circle. 5. Cover the toes carefully (from the sole) and gently stretch back and forth. 6. Using your thumb and forefinger, gently massage the toes from root to tip. Finally tightening out the instep again - from the toes to the ankles. Change leg and repeat exercises on the other foot.

Facial massage for a beautiful complexion

Close your eyes and gently wring your face with your fingertips - This stimulates the blood circulation and releases initial tension. Then smooth your forehead. Place the fingertips on the middle of the forehead (fingers are closed) and massage gently from the inside to the outside in a circular motion.

For bright eyes: Press on the inner corner of the eye, with the fingertips around the eyes and let the movement with light pressure on the temples expire.

For small wrinkles on the upper lip: Place the index finger on the right and left of the upper lip and gently stroke the skin outwards. Tension in the jaw can be solved by massaging the masticatory muscle. To find him, bite hard and gently massage the muscle gently. For a smooth neck, stroke the palms of the hands from the décolleté to the chin - always upwards.

Wellness Wednesday: Try a foam roller for a DIY massage (May 2024).
