"Six of the coins": What does the tarot card show?
If you read the tarot cards of the coins chronologically like a comic strip, then the two poor figures from the tarot card "Five of the Coins" in this picture finally arrived at the compassionate person who gave them a small donation from their worst misery helps.
Between two kneeling, rag-wrapped and hand-holding beggars stands a man in predominantly red, rich clothing, worthy of a rich Renaissance merchant. His right hand drops four coins into the hand of the beggar with the headgear or bandage gratefully lowering his gaze. In the left hand, however, the donor holds a scale that is supposed to measure exactly how fair he gives how much to whom. A pretty cool and calculated way to be charitable, or just fair?
The namesake six, as usual decorated with pentacles or pentagrams yellow gold coins are as oversized as isolated as a pure numerical value above the scene. The sky behind is gray. This is usually not a good sign in the Rider Waite Tarot! The poor people who receive their donations here on the gray ground, remain outside the? Normal? Human coexistence, with buildings bordering a beautiful forest in the background.
The merchant will return to the city as soon as he has "donated" his donation and, as before, live as a recognized member of society. The two beggars, however, remain in their solitude and wait for the next benevolent. Forever; if they do not decide to change their fate on their own and to give something that integrates them into the community.
