Katharina Thalbach: Is there anyone after God who has created a world? and that's Shakespeare! But with him not only was the word at the beginning, but also at the end. And a lot of nice words in between. Shakespeare is a kind of home for me.

Katharina Thalbach: Because he is everything at once: Psychologist, Comedian, Playwright, Entertainer, Prophet. Great love, great violence, longing? everything is treated extremely. For me, this is folk theater in the best sense.

Katharina Thalbach: In 1993 I staged the play only with men, as was customary in the Shakespearean era, because only men were allowed to be actors. Now I wanted to try the opposite and find out what poetry the play and the story has, if it is only female.

Katharina Thalbach: At a certain point, it just does not interest you anymore, because only the characters count. You're in a jerk, a lover, or a hyena, and all of a sudden it really does not matter what he or she wears between his legs.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde-woman.de: You and your ensemble were in favor of our fashion shoot model. Is fashion important to you?
I like it when people dress well.
Katharina Thalbach: Not at all! I do not even know what fashion is. But I love good fabrics? in the double sense. Clothes have to feel good, be comfortable to wear. In my wardrobe I have things that are 20 years old. And depending on weight state, I put them back on. I think it's very nice when people dress well. But for me it would be best if I had a practical kind of uniform and would not have to worry at all. I love nuns costumes and find nurses very chic? I would like that too.
