Cocktail ABC: Flip, Fizz or Fancy?

Aperitif: The before-dinner drink, as the name implies, is drunk before dinner to whet the appetite. For example Martini, Sherry, Pernod.

Punch: Mixed drinks with fresh fruits, usually prepared on the basis of white wine.

Coladas: Rum drinks prepared with coconut, fruit and cream. Example: Pina Colada Ingredients: 4 cl white rum, 9 cl pineapple juice, 4 cl cream of coconut, 1 cl cream, ice cubes. Preparation: Shake all ingredients (including the ice) in the shaker and strain into a glass filled with ice cubes. Put a pineapple slice on the edge of the glass as a decoration.



Cooler: The classic long drink is poured with ginger ale, soda or mineral water and always served with lots of pieces of ice in the glass and drinking straw. Example: Apricot Cooler. Ingredients: 4 cl apricot brandy, 3 cl lemon juice, 1 BL grenadine, 12 cl mineral water. With the exception of the mineral water, shake all the ingredients in the shaker with ice cubes and strain into a long drink glass with ice. Fill with mineral water. To garnish, put a slice of lemon on the edge of the glass. Serve with a long straw (Stirer).

digestif: Drink, which is served after the meal for digestion (after dinner drink).

Fancy drink: Everything that does not fit into any category.



flip: The creamy flip is made with egg yolk. He should be served as soon as possible, otherwise he will look unsightly and lose his taste. Example: Sport Flip. Ingredients: 1 egg yolk, 2 cl cream, 1 cl grenadine, 6 cl orange juice, 6 cl pineapple juice. Shake the ingredients and ice cubes in the shaker vigorously and drain through the strainer into a stemmed glass with ice cubes. Rub nutmeg over it.

Fizz: Contains sugar and lemon juice and is traditionally mixed with gin. He must be ice cold and served immediately. The foaming soft drink is filled up with soda water. Example: Gin Fizz. Ingredients: 5 cl of gin, 3 cl of lemon juice, 3 cl of sugar syrup, soda water. Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and 4-5 ice cubes in the shaker shake vigorously and long. Strain into a long drink glass and fill with cold soda water.



Julep: Is always prepared with fresh mint leaves and stirred with crushed ice in the glass. Example: Mojito. Ingredients: 1 lime, 1 cl sugar syrup, 4 cl white rum, mineral water, 1-2 stalks of peppermint. Put ice cubes in a long drink glass. Quarter the lime, squeeze the juice a little and add it to the lime quarters in the glass. Add sugar syrup and rum. Fill with mineral water. Put mint sprigs in the glass and serve.

Shooter: small mixed drink or a spirit drink that is drunk in one go. Example: Angel's Face. Ingredients: 2 cl gin, 2 cl apricot brandy, 2 cl calvados. Shake the ingredients well in a shaker on ice and serve in a small cocktail bowl. Sour: The classic cocktail is mixed with lemon juice, sugar and a spirit drink. Example: Whiskey sour. Ingredients: 4 cl of whiskey, 2 cl of lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of sugar. Shake the ingredients plus ice cubes in a shaker vigorously and pour into a glass. Can be decorated with a sugar rim and a slice of lemon.
