Wake Up: Tips for late risers

Energy Stretching

When cats wake up, they stretch, stretch and loll with relish before running off. And that's not only good for cats: during the night, the circulation switches to low flame, blood pressure and heart rate drop. If you find it hard to get up in a hurry, stretching exercises are ideal - right in bed. This allows the body to gradually adjust to daytime activity, slowly cranking up the cycle and gently bringing the muscles up to operating temperature. Comfortably lie flat on your back for the three small exercises, and do each exercise 2-3 times, for about 15 seconds each. Then paging. Afterwards, you are more likely to come out of the pillows!

Exercise 1

Extend left arm and left leg, the toe points upwards. Ankle the right leg and with the right hand gently pull the thigh to the stomach. While doing so, open and close your left fist vigorously and let your right foot circle.

exercise 2

Put both feet up and cross your stretched arms over your head. Squeeze the palms of the hands and let knees drop to one side.

Exercise 3

Put legs back and pull one leg to the chest. One hand lies under the hollow of the knee, the other on the calf. Carefully stretch the leg - only as far as it is comfortable. Head and shoulders remain on the mattress. Now bend and stretch the foot alternately.

wax showers

The energizers in the bath are essential oils: how about a hi-awake shower with extracts of mint, lemon and lemongrass (from Body Shop, Lavera, Origins, for example)? A lemon balm wash gel cleanses impure or combination skin in a stimulating way and for re-cleansing an invigorating grapefruit tonic is ideal (for example from Apotheker Scheller). Dry skin maintains citrus body oils or rich aroma body lotions (e.g., from Weleda, Börlind, or Marbert). And you do not have to do without the freshness boost when it comes to hair care: Rosemary or lemon shampoos (eg from Weleda, Paul Mitchell), or a tonic with menthol (eg from Guhl), which cools the scalp pleasantly , In between, splashy body splashes that refresh (for example, Clarins, Fa) are practical - some even fix the make-up (for example, Juvena).

Shiatsu facial massage

After showering follows the care and starts with a Japanese massage. Five minutes every morning - that's enough for this facial massage with real depth! All you need for this massage is a day cream and the described five handles. Try it and you will see: a tired complexion or creases are actually massaged away. Tip: The most effective massage is when you massage with only the middle and ring finger.

Handle 1

Forehead and temple: Dab plenty of cream on forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Swipe straight up with the right middle and ring finger, then with the corresponding left fingers from the root of the nose (good for forehead wrinkles), continue along the hairline to the temple. Press lightly with your fingertips. This also helps against headaches.

Handle 2

cheeks: Starting at the right side of the face and describing three spiraling lines with small circular movements. First massage the chin and then slowly come to the earlobe. With a pressure on the ear (clenching your teeth, feel where the point is sitting) to complete the first line. It continues from the corners of the mouth to the middle of the ear. Press there again: The pressure on the auricular nerve should calm down. Finally, massage from the nostrils to the temple and press lightly.

Handle 3

Eyes: Press the right inner corner of the eye for about three seconds. Guide the fingertips around the eye and press again. That makes you awake quickly. Finally, press the button pressure point with the middle finger. Then massage left.

Handle 4

Nose: Alternately with the right hand on the left nose, then with the left hand on the right nose along. Work the nostrils a little harder with small up and down movements.

Handle 5

ears: Take the earlobe between your thumb and forefinger and press. Start at the ear edge in five circular movements first and then knead downwards. The ear massage should refresh and quickly give new energy.

Color for the mood

It does not have to be a flashy make-up in the morning - but masking creams make dark circles and dark shadows disappear instantly. Mascara at least visually opens your eyes and makes them pretty clear. Brown mascara goes well with red or light blond hair, for all other hair colors the classic black is optimal. For a beautiful, clear skin, a touch of transparent powder is enough - otherwise you would prefer to take a primer first. The covers impurities and red veins in no time and makes the skin look much more even. Some rouge brings life to the morning face. Then the favorite lipstick, and the day can come!

Wake up guarantee with rhythm

Music therapists know it: Harmonious melodies with a flowing rhythm help to recharge your batteries. Because music goes into the stomach, so to speak, and unconsciously influences the psyche. Music publishers therefore offer more and more CDs for the best mood and more energy. This works only if the music meets your own taste. That's why you can not avoid testing. Ideal for an energy boost in the early morning are e.g. the CDs that "awaken inner forces" (from the series "Harmony" by BMG Ariola).
