"The right bra is my styling secret"

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: Many women have trouble finding the right bra? what is your tip? Ashley Graham: Go to a specialist shop and get advice! Each breast is different and therefore the bra is often not sitting properly. Many women buy the wrong cup size for years because they just do not know any better.

Which bra should every woman own? My personal favorite is the balconette bra, because it forms a very nice décolleté. When I go out, the push-up bra is still my first choice.

What makes the perfect bra? The perfect bra supports the breast optimally, does not pinch and is sexy. The right bra is something like my personal styling secret. If he sits properly, everything else I'm wearing looks just great. And by the way, I do that for me first and foremost, not my husband.

You have designed your own underwear line for navabi. What attracted you to the project? I never found the perfect bra for me, so one that offers support while being sexy. I wanted to change that and I think I got it right. My lingerie "funktiniert" on the body and is also super comfortable.

The line is reminiscent of the glamor of old Hollywood. My husband and I are real movie freaks. We watch old films almost every evening. The actresses in silent movies were always dressed very sexy and have liked to set their curves in scene. I adapted that for my personal style and also implemented it in my new lingerie line for navabi.

As a successful plus-size model, do you know the plus-size market very well? why is Plus-Size-Fashion still being treated so negligently? Honestly, I do not understand that either. I've been working as a plus-size model for 15 years, especially in the last five years a lot has happened. Many new labels with fashionable designs for large sizes have established themselves in the market, and the attention for curvy women has generally increased. Nevertheless, there are still few labels, for example in the luxury sector for large sizes. This gap must be closed urgently.

What does the future of plus-size fashion look like? The plus-size market will continue to grow, we will see more and more confident women with great curves in the media? And that's good. Plus size is not a trend that will eventually disappear. Plus size stays. The goal is reached when plus-size is no longer titled plus-size, but is normality. Analogous to society, where the average dress size is 42. There is still a lot to do, but we are on the right track.
