Selma Blair: The actress is suffering from multiple sclerosis

It's a horror news: since the evening of August 16, Selma Blair (46, "Ice Cold Angels") knows she has multiple sclerosis (MS). She has now confirmed via Instagram. The disease that affects the central nervous system can manifest itself through many different symptoms.

"Sometimes I fall"

"I'm disabled," Blair writes, explaining how the disease affects her. "Sometimes I fall, I drop things, my memory is holey, and my left side asks a broken GPS for directions."

Currently, Blair is on camera for the series "Another Life" and only "by the grace of God, willpower and understanding producers at Netflix" she has this job. But she wants to go on and do her best. She also did not want to let her humor go.

Often she only wanted to sleep and the illness had hit her hard, but she also wanted to encourage herself and others. You can not get help if you do not ask for it. She wants her to be able to completely lead her own life again: "I want to play with my son again, I want to run down the street again and ride my horse, I have MS and I'm okay."

She receives support

The actress gets her support from her friends, as she writes, including her fellow actors Jaime King (39, "Hart of Dixie"), Sarah Michelle Gellar (41, "Buffy") and Freddie Prinze Jr. (42, "Summer Catch "). Blair especially thanks Elizabeth Berkley (46, "The Devil's Club"), who has just made her want to talk to her brother, dr. Jason Berkley, to visit. He finally found the disease. Blair probably has been suffering from MS for 15 years. Now she was relieved that she finally knew what she had.

Actress Selma Blair opens up about 'tears' and 'relief' of MS diagnosis l GMA (April 2024).
