If your child paints these 30 things, it is especially gifted!

If you want to know if your kid is a little genius and has special abilities, you should pay close attention to what he paints. Painting as an indication of intelligence?Yes! This is what a study by the research-oriented Radboud University in the Netherlands found out.

The test was attended by children aged 7 to 9 years. The result: when the children paint one of the 30 things listed below, they are especially gifted. Painting is the mindset of a child, creativity.

These are the 30 things that particularly gifted children draw according to the study:

  • A head from the side
  • Eye make up
  • mucus
  • freckles
  • A goatee
  • clinch
  • a fly
  • a tie
  • a badge
  • a waist
  • nipples
  • Hair on the arms
  • Hands stuck in the pockets
  • Hands behind his back
  • gloves
  • nails
  • a ring
  • genitals
  • urine
  • a wallet chain
  • a shoelace
  • Shoe Accessories
  • Cowboy spurs
  • Feet and toes as a whole
  • wing
  • a tail
  • several human figures
  • one animal
  • To dye
  • a frame around the people

Creative thinking so far hardly noticed

So far, too much emphasis is placed on IQ tests that query above all logical thinking, criticize the researchers. However, developing one's own ideas, being able to think flexibly and unconventionally are also signs of great potential in children, says Sven Mathijssen, co-author of the study.

"These kids give unusual answers in intelligence tests, their answers are not necessarily wrong, but they can not be considered correct because they do not show up in the answers grid of the test,"

Mathijssen told the Guardian. And already they are labeled as unintelligent - although their creativity makes them very talented! Frustration and demotivation in school are then inevitable.

Scientists now want to continue research, including with younger children, and develop intelligence tests that also involve creativity.
