"Poltergeist" star James Karen is dead

US actor James Karen (1923 - 2018) died on Tuesday in Los Angeles. This reports, among other things, the industry portal "Variety". The character actor, who played a variety of roles during his career - including in "Poltergeist" - was 94 years old.

The career of the 1923 born actor began in the 1940s in New York. For 70 years, Karen has been seen both in the cinema and on television. In addition to "poltergeist" he also had appearances in "The pursuit of happiness", "The China Syndrome", "The Untouchables" or "Mulholland Drive - Road of Darkness". Karen also worked in various soap operas, for example in "Young and Passionate - How Life Is Playing" or in the series "All My Children".
