Pegida gallows: Is it allowed to demonstrate this way?
In the Pegida stronghold Dresden again around 9000 followers have gathered for a rally on Monday evening. At the same time, the protest of the self-styled "patriots against the Islamization of the West" reaches a new, macabre stage: One of the demonstrators carried a gallows with him. It read: 'Reserved for' the pack 'Siegmar (sic!) Gabriel' and 'Reserved for' Mutti 'Angela Merkel' (see photo).
Pegida boss Lutz Bachmann called the federal government in his speech "our Berlin dictators", as "Der Tagesspiegel" reports. The demonstrators shouted "Merkel has to go". The Chancellor was also vilified on posters as "Mother Terroresia".
The reaction in the social media was not long in coming:

For the Galgenbauer the action, however, will have an aftermath. The prosecutor Dresden has meanwhile taken the investigation, reports the MDR radio. It was determined against unknown on suspicion of public call for criminal offenses. Pegida was founded almost a year ago. Against the Pegida chairman Lutz Bachmann was recently charged with sedition for sedition.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, a user posted a picture with a similarly disastrous symbolic effect: a self-made guillotine with the (also misspelled) words: "Pass (sic!) On, Sigmar!" However, the picture was taken during the anti-TTIP demo last weekend in Berlin.
Conclusion: Whether gallows or guillotine - anyone who thinks that freedom of expression means expelling death threats against dissenters has not understood anything. Political discourse looks different.
