"Hello!" Frisian properly welcomes us hotel boss Karin Judick at the front desk and makes it clear: Here there is no Etepetete-Wellness, but an effortless, natural atmosphere - but combined with high standards and stylish design. Or as Karin Judick says: "Our guests like being down-to-earth, but still with us Four-star quality."
This is already conveyed by the generous entrance area: the old farmhouse structures were harmoniously integrated into modern forms - naturalness at a more beautiful living level. And as soon as you enter, the visitor will notice: This house is a matter of the heart, Coming from the Ruhr area, Karin Judick and her husband created the NAKUK (which stands for "nature, culture, art") in 2002 from a dilapidated farmhouse - as a newcomer, without outside help, purely from their own inspirations. Thus 15 modern designed rooms were created in the Wangerland, which provide for well-being climate with clay-plastered walls and warm oak wood floors. "You have to be a little bit crazy," says Judick, "but we still see the hotel as a great gift."
The same is true of their guests, who even rush in from Switzerland and Austria and leave lyrical acknowledgments in their guestbook. And we too experience the arrival at NAKUK as a true change of mind, First, the sight: In the spacious 40 square meter room, the terrace view with wide-angle optics on the flounderplatte spoils marshes under a wide sky. Then the listening: The complete noise and silence, apart from wind and birdsong, is an ear experience. And certainly the smell: The big city nose breathes the luxury of pure country air, No wonder that Karin Judick always observes a high-speed relaxation with her guests: "After a day at the latest, the faces are brightened up."
The evening three-course menu is also the tasting, from homemade apple juice and delicious organic red wine on spicy spicy turmeric bread to meatloaf from the chef. Chef Ulrich Judick is responsible for the culinary specialties - and of course that is everything fresh and biologically correct - you can taste it, What else can top this? A heavenly bed in XXL format, which guarantees gentle drowsiness into the realm of dreams. On day 2, there is time for sense # 5: Feeling. We are massaged by expert hands, sweat in the infrared sauna and blow back from the stiff breeze on the Waterkant to the 1.6 acre natural site of the NAKUK - and into the extra cozy bed.
So the NAKUK offers an optimal mixture of nature experience, wellness, sophisticated cuisine and relaxed atmosphere. "We followed our guts and wanted to convey why we are here," says Karin Judick.
