Knitting shawl collar jacket - a guide
Instructions for a shawl collar jacket in size S / M / L
Time spent: 22 hours.
Difficulty: light.
Material: 700/800/900 g Dark blue Fb 105 "Alpaca dégradé" (100% alpaca wool, length 180 m / 100 g) by ONline. Knitting needles No. 4,5 (if you knit loosely) or 5.5 (if you knit tight). It is important that you come to the information in the mesh sample. 1 crochet hook No. 4,5.
Note: It is possible that the given wool can not be bought anymore. In this case, you are looking for a similar quality. Please note the specified run length and do a stitch test!
Bund pattern: 1 st at left, 1 st at right.
Smooth right (GR): Rowing right, back rows left.
Mesh test (GR): 15 M x 22 R = 10 x 10 cm.
Back: Cast on 110/118/126 sts and knit 10 cm in BM, continue to knit in GR, while in the first row spread 35/37/39 sts = 75/81/87 sts. Start armholes 40/38/36 cm mark BM from both sides. 16/18/20 cm from the marking of the armholes work the shoulders and the neckline at the same time: for the shoulders in each 2nd row bind off R 2 x 6 and 2 x 7/3 x 7 and 1 x 8/4 x 8 sts on both sides, for Bind off the neckline at the middle 11 sts and finish both sides separately, while doing so, bind off 6 x 1 st each edge at each cutting edge.
Left front: Cast on 38/42/46 sts and knit 10 cm in BM, continue to knit in GR, split 11/12/13 sts in row 1 = 27/30/33 sts. Start armhole 40/38/36 cm mark from BM on the right side. Cast off 16/18/20 cm from marker of armhole for shoulder every other row R 1 x 6 and 3 x 7/2 x 7 and 2 x 8/3 x 8 and 1 x 9 sts.
Right front: Knit the same way as the left front piece.
Sleeve: Cast on 50/54/58 sts and knit 10 cm in BM, continue to knit in GR, 14/16/16 sts = 36/38/42 sts in first row. 6x 6 cm every 6 cm / 8 times every 4.5 cm / 9 x every 4 cm Inc 1 st = 48/54/60 sts.
Left collar half: Cast on 176 sts and knit 16 cm in BM. Bind off the first 66 sts on the front = 110 sts. Cast off 8 sts 8 times on every other row, then bind off the remaining 46 sts.
Right collar half: Knit the same way to the left collar half.
Belt: Cast on 15 sts and work 160 cm in BM.
elaboration: Close the shoulder, side and sleeve seams. Sew the collar halves together at the back center (edge 23 cm high) and sew the collar to the cut edge (stop edge facing outwards). At the waist height (26 cm below the armhole) in the side seam fasten a loop of crocheted mesh at both ends for the belt. Sew in the sleeves.
