Knit blanket: 10 simple instructions

Knit the nest warmer yourself

The blanket will be approx. 130 cm x 170 cm without fringes.

That's what you need to knit to the ceiling:

Yarn from Lang Yarns, quality? Virginia? 50 m / 100 g): 2700 g in gray No. 3. A long circular needle 9 and a thick crochet hook for tying the fringes

Basic pattern: 1st to 6th row: KRAUS RE = knit each row. 7th through 10th R: GLATT RE = Back K, K on back. Repeat 1st through 10th Rs.

Mesh sample: 9 M and 14 R = 10 cm x 10 cm.

How to do it:



Cast on 120 sts and knit in basic pattern. At a height of about 170 cm, after a 6th pattern R, bind off the sts. Tie into the stop and the binding edge in every M 1 fringe. For each fringe, cut a 25 cm thread. Fold the thread in half, pull the loop with the crochet hook through the M, then pull the end threads through the loop.

That's what you need to knit to the ceiling:

Approximately 2300 g light gray wool, print 234-906, quality "Clou" (75% pure new wool, 25% acrylic, run length 85 m / 50 g) from Junghans, material price approx. 130 Euro. 1 circular needle No. 20 (100 cm long).



How to do it:

Rib pattern with 4 threads: Start R: * 2 sts left, 2 sts right, 2 sts left, 2 sts right, 2 sts left, 1 sts right, 2 sts left, 1 sts right, repeat * x 4 times, end with 2 sts left, 2 sts right, 2 sts left, 2 sts right, 2 sts left. Knit the stitches as they appear in all the following rows.

swatch: Knitted in the rib pattern results in 5 M x 8 R = 10 x 10 cm. Cast on 80 sts and knit ribbed. 2 meters from the stop cast off all stitches loosely.

Time spent: 25 hours (blanket), 8 hours (pillow) Difficulty: medium

That's what you need: Wool quality "Boston" by Schachenmayr SMC (70% polyacrylic, 30% pure new wool, running length approx. 55 m / 50 g). For the ceiling (size 130 x 130 cm): 1000 g in middle gray (00092), 100 g in neon pink (00136). For the pillow (size 45 x 45 cm): 300 g in medium gray, 50 g in neon pink. 1 pillow inlay. Knitting tension: with needle 7-8 smooth right: 12 stitches, 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm



Ceiling - how it works: Cast on 156 stitches in mid gray, knit one row to the right. Continue to knit 230 rows on the right side (right rows, back rows left). End with a right row, for the cord edge from the four side edges each grasp 156 stitches.



Cord border:

Knit 3 stitches with Neonpink at the beginning of the Abket Round (see above right). Knit 2 stitches on the right, knit the next two stitches on the right side (1 stitch of neon with a medium gray stitch). Put these three stitches back on the left needle. Repeat from * to the last stitch. Bind off the last three stitches and sew on the thread.

Pillowcase - how it works:

Cast on 54 stitches in mid gray and knit 162 rows (= 90 cm) to the right. Place the pillow halfway left and left and take stitches around the cord edge: 3 times 54 sts along the side edges and 54 sts from the break edge (the place where the 90 cm will be folded to 45 cm) = 216 sts Knit neon pink the cord edge (see blanket). Close the stop and the binding edge, sewing the zipper by hand. Close the side seams. Get the pillow.

Knit stitches - how it works:

Using the right-hand needle, knit one stitch out of the first stitch in the row, pull the loop slightly longer and lift it onto the left needle, do not remove the right-hand needle, but pull the next loop and lift it back onto the left-hand needle. For a blanket of approx. 140 cm x 160 cm you need wick wool, e.g. 1700g "Arctic" (run length 100m / 100g) from www.wolland.de or 1500g "Malou" (run length 65m / 50g) from www.langyarns.com. And a circular knitting needle No. 9 - 10 in 1 m length.

pattern:

The mesh size must be divisible by 12, so that the pattern repeat rises. In addition, there is an edge stitch on each side. The edge stitches are always knitted on the right.

How to do it:



For the lower and upper edge of the ceiling before the first pigtail and after the last pigtail, smooth 6 rows. knit. Cast on 194 sts (1RdM + 192 M + 1 RdM) and repeat the repeat in width and height.

Patchwork blanket (for advanced users)

The result is a patchwork blanket that will last for a long while - first while knitting and then on your sofa or bed.

That's what you need (for a ceiling of 150 x 125 cm): Gedifra Cashmerino (55% merino wool extra fine, 35% acrylic, 10% cashmere), each 400 g in color 4866 lime, 4881 petrol, 350 g in color 4835 heather and 450 g in color 4816 silver, 2 knitting needles No. 4,5 , 1 long circular needle No. 4,5, 1 darning needle.

Pattern: a) Large pear pattern (for the patches) 1st row: 1 sts left, 1 sts right alternating 2nd row: knit sts, as they appear 3rd row: 1 sts right, 1 sts. 4 rows on the left: knit as shown. Repeat these 4 rows.

b) Smooth left (for the border) 1. Knit left st, K2 right sts.



That's how it works:The blanket consists of 30 patches: 8 patches each in lime green and petrol, 7 patches in heather and silver each: cast on 50 stitches and knit 66 rows in a pear pattern. Knit 30 patches and sew together to five patch strips (consisting of 6 patches) in any color sequence. Then sew the strips together to the ceiling. Knit the border in gray smooth left.

Knit out 300 sts from the long edges and knit every 250 sts from the right side (= 1100 sts). Work the border in four parts: from lower center to side center, continue to upper center, etc., mark corner stitches. In each round, knit 1 st in each round before and after the corner stitch. Knit a total of 5 rounds, then bind off sts. Join the open edges together.

105 x 100 cm knitting time approx. 22 hours YOU NEED: 425 g light green Fb 30, "Cashmere Fino" (100% cashmere, LL 88 m / 25 g) from Schulana. Knitting needles No. 4,5. Crochet hook No. 3,5. KRAUS RIGHT (KR): With needle No. 4,5. Rowing right, back rows right.
