Katy Perry: She can be particularly proud of this award

Katy Perry (34, "Dark Horse") has been awarded the "Diane von Furstenberg" Award in the Inspiration category. Each year, the prize is awarded to five women who, according to the website, have demonstrated "leadership, strength and courage through their commitment to the cause of women". The singer received the award for her commitment to LGBTQ equality and her efforts to raise funds for the fight against AIDS.

Other reasons for the organization include its appointment as UNICEF Ambassador in 2013 and its travels to the developing countries of Vietnam and Madagascar. In such programs she supports vulnerable or sick children and adolescents. All this leads to Perry being described as a "proponent of many philanthropic concerns" and the award has probably more than earned.
