© PRMaya (Jennifer Lopez) is in her early 40s and pretty frustrated. She has worked her way up to the deputy store manager in the largest supermarket in New York's Queens district, but she can do away with the head of department without a reasonable school leaving certificate.
Then she gets a second chance: Without her knowledge, the son of her best friend Joan (Leah Remini) polished Maya's CV and missed her even the right social media appearance.
She is promptly invited for a job interview in Manhattan, and before she knows it, she finds herself a marketing consultant for a cosmetics company. Maya reinvents herself from the ground up to show the world that cleverness is at least as valuable as a college diploma. But how long can she maintain her false identity?
