Do not cry, say something!

Sometimes the world is frustrating. The US is ruled by a sexist. Thousands of peaceful protesters go unnoticed because some hoodlums are rampaging. Dead animals are flown around the world so that "the West" can put cheap meat on the grill every day. Terrorists arbitrarily kill people.

Above all the most connections in our world, I know one thing above all: that I can not explain them to the aliens in any way.

The worst thing is that so much nonsense is happening and we can not do anything about it. We work, take care of friends and family, sometimes fight with ourselves, As a rule, there is no time or energy left to save the world by the way.

What can we do?

But that does not mean that we are powerless and can not do anything! There are so many possibilities, to have a positive effect on the world in your own everyday life on a small scaleBuy local produce, bring the fruit home without a plastic bag, leave the seat to the old man in the train, and smile friendly at the cashier in the supermarket.

Does not solve the problems of the world? No! But if ALL or at least very MANY follow, it makes the world even better: Let us accept what we can not change but also change what we can not accept!

Where do we start?

In our circle of acquaintances, our filterbubble, we can make a difference! If the uncle says something that worries us - for example, a homophobic remark, a chauvinist spell, a xenophobic utterance - THAT is our chance to do something! THAT is the moment when we can address our concerns and make our uncle think!

But even that is easier said than done. For who wants to argue and discuss at the family party?

Who can help us?

The "Little Five" initiative, for example, wants to help us address issues in our filterbubble that we do not want to accept. On its website, it provides guidelines, among other things, as we? radically polite! ? dealing with people where we find worrying views.

In her "Play of Radical Courtesy" we can test ourselves how we react at all, when our colleague scolds refugees or something similar.

While the initiative focuses largely on the topic of right-wing populism? but their ideas, suggestions and offers can also be transferred to other areas.

Clear: The big problems of our world are complex and can not be solved within our filter bubbles. But we have to start somewhere!
