Annette Frier: No comeback for her hit series "Danni Lowinski"

Actress Annette Frier (45) returns to the screen with two new "Ella Schön" films. Next Sunday, the ZDF shows "Ella Schön: The naked truth" at 20:15, the week after, there is another episode to see. For Frier, the role of Asperger's syndrome Ella is something very special. "Ella is allowed to do so many things Annette does not dare," laughs the actress in an interview with spot on news. However, the 45-year-old refuses another favorite role. For "Danni Lowinski" there will be no comeback.

More than five million viewers have seen the first two "Ella Schön" films on TV. Has the success surprised you?

Annette Frier: First and foremost I was happy! After all, it was an exciting experiment - the theme of Asperger on ZDF on Sunday evening. All the better is it that we were able to inspire the audience and have turned on so many people.

How was it again for you to play the role of Asperger's syndrome Ella?

Frier: It was a great pleasure. Ella is allowed to do so much that Annette does not dare ... (laughs). It took me a few days, but then I was back in the weird Ella world. Since I did not have to go in search of figurines anymore, I was able to work even more on the finishing touches and details in the new films. That was great fun.

What special challenges does the role bring?

Frier: Well, presenting autism is a challenge per se, I would say. Language, physicality, timing, everything is different! The synapses have to combine completely differently. This is what the body has to get used to when playing.

From the TV, you are now indispensable, with "Mrs. Mother Animal" you are currently also seen in the cinema. You do not seem to complain about a lack of role offers?

Frier: No, really not. Did I complain? That would be embarrassing! (laughs) Seriously, I'm happy about the many different roles I'm allowed to play. That's the big gift in my job.

Are you afraid that at some point the roles will be missing?

Frier: No, I'm not dealing with such questions in anticipatory obedience.

What happened to the planned "Danni Lowinski" movie? Will there be a reunion with the popular lawyer?

Frier: I am asked that again and again. But no, unfortunately, this is not planned at first. Sorry.

Not only are you an actress, you're also the mother of ten-year-old twins. How do you manage the balancing act between job and family?

Frier: Always better, small people are getting big too. Otherwise, it needs a good organization and people who support you.

Is there still time left for yourself?

Frier: It behaves with me, as with billions of other people in the world too: It works somehow, sometimes better, sometimes worse. That's called life. Every woman who has family and works knows that.

How do you like to relax?

Frier: I prefer to relax in the bathtub and / or with a good book.

Bonnie and Clyde (1967). Final scene (May 2024).
