Beatrix Esser: You can condense the eyebrows and eyelashes, draw eyeliner and pigment the lips. But everything should always look natural. A 60-year-old customer once said to me after a treatment: "These are exactly the lips I used to have!". That's the point: the contours become sharp again like a child's mouth, often just the color is missing.

Beatrix Esser: A tattoo goes at least into the second layer of skin, a pigmentation only up to the epidermis. Therefore, it must not bleed with a professional pigmentation.

Beatrix Esser: No, not usually. The skin is anesthetized with a surface anesthetic, so that one does not feel the punctures.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: Is there something to be considered as a client in the treatment?
Beatrix Esser: The pre-drawing on the skin is the most important, because the permanent make-up is only as good as the drawing.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: Can you immediately return to the agenda?
Beatrix Esser: Normally. Some women get slight swelling after lip pigmentation. Even an upper eyelid can swell up, as if you've been through a night. If you cool it well, it disappears during the day.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: If you are not satisfied with the result - is there any guarantee of permanent make-up?
Beatrix Esser: A studio should have at least a one-year warranty, because it always has to be reworked. Lips can e.g. After a few days lose color again, it can also happen that after half a year a little corner color is missing and that is annoying. Sometimes you have to do it after one year, but then you have three to five years rest.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: There is always the danger that you get an inexperienced Pigmentiererin, because there is no regulated training. How do you find a qualified specialist?
Beatrix Esser: You should definitely get detailed advice on site and have a close look at the studio. The advice must be free, everything else is unsound. It is best if the customer writes down her questions beforehand. In addition, she should demand that she should be allowed to look over the shoulder of the pigmentation worker - preferably with a lip pigmentation, because this work is the most difficult. If the pigmentator refuses, she should go somewhere else. Many show before / after photos, but paper is known to be patient. On the hygiene you should also pay attention, it should, for example, only disposable needles are used.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: What can I do if my permanent make-up is botched anyway? Can this be undone?
Beatrix Esser: I was already confronted with women who had jeans-blue eyebrows and completely crooked eyeliners. Retouching is a lot of work, but with a lot of experience and patience one can "fix" most distortions. For some retouchings, however, I sat for a whole year.
ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: It is said that toxic colors are often used, such as those commonly found in car paints - azo paints that are not even allowed to dye clothing because of the risk of cancer. Is that correct?
Beatrix Esser: That's right. You do not believe what's on the market, there are no legal requirements. That's why I also make my own colors - with a leaflet that contains all the ingredients.

Beatrix Esser: Of course, that's great. I have had my eyebrows, eyelashes and lips done. I had no upper lip, so to speak, but with the contours and the shading my mouth looks really good.
