Actor Idris Elba wants a wife as 007? Bond fans outraged

He himself was supposed to revolutionize the Bond film? many have already celebrated Idris Elba as the first black secret agent 007. Now, however, the actor has canceled and made himself strong in an interview with "Variety" for another, no less revolutionary variant: a woman as Bond!

"The Bond character could be something other than a white man, he could be a woman, he could be a black woman, he could be a white woman, that's a character everyone wants to see, why not?"

Good question: why should Bond not be a woman ?!

On Facebook, Elba's suggestion was not well received by all. Especially die-hard Bond fans tend to have a hard time dealing with such drastic changes. For example, a supposed 007 expert commented:

Bond is based on a character of Ian Fleming. If you want an agent with a different race, gender, or religion, that's fine, but it's not the character of this author. There are 8 other 00 agents to use, but leave James Bond alone.

Many other users also argue that "diversity is nice and good, but Bond is Bond!"

User Fiona Murphy can not understand that people are so sensitive to something different in a fantasy world. She points out:

So many comments here are shockingly hypocritical. You have a problem with a fictional white man portrayed by a gifted black actor. But you think it's okay to whitewash a dark-skinned man named "Jesus" from the Middle East.

By the time the new Bond cast member (s) is confirmed, we definitely have to be patient for a while: Daniel Craig will again be in front of the camera for the next part of the classic. The film will be released in cinemas in 2019. Maybe Idris Elba will think twice before then, and yet she herself enters her Majesty's secret service.

To put his suggestion to Agent Bond into action, there would definitely be plenty of great actresses out there (which actress would you like to see as Jane Bond, vote here).

And a Bond boy could certainly raise somehow ...
