Policemen meet children's wishes

Normally, it does not necessarily mean something good when police stop car drivers. In the best case one loses by the controls only time, in the worst case money or even the driver's license. In the small town of Lowell in the US state of Massachusetts, however, the traffic police have come up with something special at Christmas time. Why do not people even surprise with gifts? Put a smile on your face? After all, the officials are also "friends and helpers".

The result is a touching film that will certainly do a lot for the scratched image of the American police. He shows how the police seemingly casually ask the car drivers about their children's wishes and whether they have already gotten all the presents. And while the people in the car complain that they are not that far away, helpers over the radio have overheard everything and are hurrying to find the right gift in the supermarket next door. In a flash, it is packed and handed to the controlling officer by a man in a Santa Claus costume.

When the traffic cop presents the packages with Lego, computer games or even a television to motorists, they can hardly believe it. "How did you do that? Incredible! Can I hug you?" The policeman mumbles something about Christmas goblins and likes to be hugged by happy people. A woman asks him carefully about the threatened speeding ticket, but the man remains generous: "If you really want it, I can also give you a ticket." Only a father does not seem to be so happy with the gift: "Actually, I had already told my child that it will not get that."

The video was sponsored by the American television channel "UP", which calls for "Uplift Someone" to make people happy with small gestures.
