A dead pensioner in the park gives the commissars Ballauf (Klaus J. Behrendt) and Schenk (Dietmar Bär) puzzles. Did the old man get into a fight? Was another person abducted, as a witness reports? Soon, the investigators' foreboding will be certain: they are dealing with an abduction drama. Daniel, the 22-year-old son of contractor Markus Wächter, is the victim. The kidnappers demand a million euros and that no police is turned on. The abduction parallels an earlier case where perpetrators were never caught.

A young unemployed person was murdered. The commissioners encounter in the investigation on a suspicious pastor (Christoph Bach). This is a thorn in the eye of his official church. And how does he relate to the pregnant girlfriend of the murdered man?

When shortly thereafter the terminally ill mother of the victim is murdered, Bodenstein is shaken.

The corpse of a man who apparently was overrun by a car before his death, is a mystery to Commissar Özakin (Erol Sander). Everything points to an accident with driver's escape, but shortly thereafter, a fatal attack is committed on another man and Özakin slightly injured in the pursuit of undetected escaping offender. An old newspaper clipping finally leads the investigator on the trail of a late revenge campaign. Key figure is the eccentric pop star Tolga Turan (Navid Akhavan), who is involved in the questioning in contradictions.

The owner of the Finchmere Airfield is dropped dead from an airplane. Amazed, Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon) and Nelson (Gwilym Lee) enter the world of stunt aviators and aviator heroes and discover the worst. There is an aggressive citizen initiative against the airport and its noise. Even more mysterious are the traces of events and affairs from the time of the Second World War. At the Big Air Show, conflicts break out that lead Barnaby to a solution.
