Why 80s kids are really the coolest!

Never will I forget sitting in front of my stereo and waiting forever, so I could press the "record" button on my tape recorder on time when my favorite song from Queen came on the radio. Spotify did not exist back then, no, I did not even know what a CD player is. So I wore my hair short at the front and longer at the back, and I had pants that were cut like a carrot into which I'd put a sweatshirt on and shopped. I thought that was super chic. The only time to the technical and visual problems that had to overcome 80s children.

David Hasselhoff was not always drunk

Also, we grew up with the awareness that Milli Vanilli and Bros are cool bands and shoulder pads are doing an extremely good job. That was certainly completely idiotic on the one hand, on the other hand it was very original. At least I do not know anyone who had relatively amusing hairstyles in 2000 like my sister and I did in 1985. Incidentally, we do not only know Jane Fonda from Netflix series, in which she embodies attractive older ladies, but we remember her as the young aerobic goddess she'll always be for us. And David Hasselhoff was pretty hot? when he was still called "Michael Knight" for us and talked to his smart car K.I.T.T. Without being drunk, by the way.

In addition, the 80s is the decade in which such great artists as Nena, Rio Reiser, power plant or trio became famous in this country. The Neue Deutsche Welle is something that I find incomparably amusing and wonderful to this day. Does anyone remember Andreas Dorau's "Fred from Jupiter" here? Just thinking about the text and the amateur video I have to laugh.

Aviators? Uncle Gerd already had 1984

But we can not only remember by heart "I've been looking for freedom", have worn pants in Möhrenshape, smeared the turquoise kohl in the eye and had terrible hairstyles: in fact we had to live with the fact that we thought for a very long time "Helmut Kohl "and" Chancellor "would be synonyms for the same thing. We witnessed Chernobyl and the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Not only do we know from James Bond movies what the Cold War is, we personally remember the border controls when we drove to Berlin to relatives. All that ? and much more (well, who knows which song this line came from?)? we survived. It certainly only made us stronger. That's why we can only smile tiredly when young people with aviator sunglasses feel incredibly fashionable. That's what Uncle Gerd had in 1984.
