"Knight Rider": 25 years later

"Didididi, didididi, didididididiiiiiiii ...."!

No, this is not Loriot's Jodeldiplom, but the title tune of one of the most iconic series of the eighties (yes, even more iconic than "rivals of the racetrack"): "Knight Rider", David Hasselhoff aka Michael Knight as Protector and Savior of the Disenfranchised and Persecuted. Of course always at his side: PUTTY., the talking high-tech car, which, once called by the clock, is available for every little coil, whether Turbo Boost, Ski Mode or Microjam - it does not matter!

Now, the eponymous sequel to the cult series is running on RTL. The hair is still there, but now 25 years have gone into the country. Of course, Michael Knight is not in the mood, still in the flying K.I.T.T. to sit, especially since David Hasselhoff currently has really really other things to do. Lying on the floor and eating drunk burgers for example.

There again: "Knight Rider"

So much the better that movie son Mike Traceur (Justin Bruening) willingly intervenes to take on the fight "Good Against Evil". Also K.I.T.T. has undergone a minor overhaul and shines, just in time for the new millennium, with even more hi-tech features.

It's good that some elementary things have remained the same. The title tune for example. Or the performance of David Hasselhoff. This time, hopefully without burgers and alcoholic drinks.

The pilot will be on RTL at 21:15 on Thursday, 8 October. The series "Knight Rider" from 17 October every Saturday at 16:50.
