Completely unsympathetic, but wise - what we can learn from eagles

Force animals are, according to shamanic beliefs, animals that can show you the way in certain life situations. They are often not very similar to you, no, they teach you something. I'm not that shaman now, but I find that with the power animals kind of obvious. At least since I met a real eagle. That was only semiromantic. I was lying on no rock in the wild nature of Canada when it happened. No, I was sitting on a tree stump in the game park and was watching a bird of prey show. I learned a lot. Not just about Adler, but about me too. For while the falconer proudly listed the merits of eagles, I became smaller and smaller. I think I am an anti-eagle. And even if Franklin pronounced himself as the heraldic animal of the USA with the words "He is simply a miserable bird" against the eagle, the opposite of Adler is somehow still much miserable.

Eagles want to go all the way up

Do you know these terrible barriers in your head? These? But that would not like XY, that brings nothing anyway in the end ?? - Thoughts? I know her better than good. Eagles, on the other hand, can fly up to 10,000 meters. And they do it. Without thinking about whether this is particularly useful or fits the other. And I wonder: how high could I go if I did not limit myself all the time?

Just jump into the cold water? Eagles do that.

Eagles are kings of the air. No reason for the brave animals, not even to change the element. In rapid speed, sea eagles plunge into the water and capture? Well? in most cases nothing. But the one fish they catch then? Sometime ? it was worth venturing to fall over and over again. Could you think about it?

Eagles have no self-doubt

Sometimes eagles do not catch anything the whole day. Nada. Niente. What do eagles do then? The same as always. They leave work on time and do not worry. Tomorrow is another day, is not it? As I race around the night with self-doubt and root cause exploration, the eagle is fit enough to do better the next day. Smart animal!

Eagles are up to their decision

What you have not already left for feathers, just because you had to start all over again. Is also wise at a certain age. But at some point, one could start to trust in past decisions and not constantly question everything. Do you know why eagles have such pompous nests that weigh up to 10 tons? Because they build on it every year instead of constantly starting over.

Too exhausting? Then eagles let it be

Eagles are considered strong animals. They are too. But does not mean that they raushauen these forces for nonsense. When the wind and the thermals are not right, the rulers of the skies just stay in the tree. Way too exhausting. It's much cleverer, then go, if the wind is good. Success is sometimes a matter of patience to wait for the right circumstances and to use them for yourself instead of trampling headless. Patience. What was that again?

Eagles are no luck

For five weeks, baby cubs get iced up eagle porridge. After that, the little ones have to disassemble their food themselves. This is still difficult for them, but the Eagles are strict. True to the motto: You can only do what you practice, let your little ones practice the failures before. Try to remember when the three-year-old once again claims he can not put his shoes on. The ones with velcro, mind you.

Eagle and love

Once Eagles have found their partner for life, they usually remain loyal to him for a lifetime. Check, at least I can. But even after many years, eagles bring each other green branches as a sign of their love. Ok, there it hooks again. New gasoline in the tank certainly does not count. Note: bring something with you again. Not branches now. Also no full tank. Rather beers or something.

Eagles are cool

By the way, I am not alone with my fascination for the mentality of the eagle. Author and Coach Alexander Munke gives full seminars on the subject and is sure: "We are all born as an eagle, but in the course of our lives in many things to cackle chickens." He actually has nothing against chickens. "But in professional life focused thinkers are better than cackling fellow travelers." His seminars are about courage, focus and goal-finding, about effectiveness, healthy egoism and the ability to sit like an eagle over things ... er ... stand. For a long time, employers have come to value Adler seminars and have their staff trained in Adler skills. "The Adler as a solution-oriented approach is very handy," he says. I agree. Only the chicken thing, we have to talk about it again. Anti-Adler sounds somehow nicer.

Alexander Munke is an entertainer, speaker and author. In his book "Why It's Good To Have a Bird - Your Eagle Speaks," he explains exactly why it's worth being an eagle (and not a chicken).
