Temper champagne properly

As a rule, you should enjoy champagne at about between 6 and 8 degrees. High-quality vintage champagnes are also allowed to reach the ten-degree mark. If you do not have a thermometer handy, serve the champagne a bit too cool, rather than too warm. Because in the glass, champagne heats up pretty quickly anyway.

Open champagne properly

When opening champagne, the following should be noted - at least if you do not want a Formula One feeling: hold the bottle at an angle and turn it carefully while holding the top of the cork. Then there is a soft "pop" and no one is showered!

Whether the champagne is still fresh, reveals the cork: The harder he turns out, the fresher the champagne. And if it breaks apart like a mushroom, that's a good sign. Small "Hutzelkorken", however, are usually longer in the bottle.



The right glass for champagne

Champagne should be drunk from a glass, which is one or tulip-shaped, because then the champagne bubbles for a long time. What is important is a handle - this is how the glass can be held without the hand heat being transferred to the drink.

If you have many guests in the house, but only a limited number of champagne glasses or champagne flutes in the cupboard, you can boldly reach for the red wine glass. Even in high-end restaurants, champagne has often been served in large burgundy glasses for several years. This is no longer a no-go!
