The story of a fashion reportage
A little girl who secretly painted the walls in her parents' barn with lime and soot a long time ago, making her famous beyond Poland's borders. A fashion editor who has always wanted to go to Poland and heard about a village that should be beautifully painted. And a make-up artist with Polish roots, who is a friend of the editor and wants to show her friend, a photographer, her old home? these are the protagonists of our fashion production. Fe? Icja Cury? Owa (1904? 1974) from Zalipie co-founded a tradition with her painting, today her parents' house is a museum lovingly cared for by her granddaughter Wanda Racia. Next door, in the house of the painters ("Dom Malarek"), ten women work, which preserve the old painting tradition - they spontaneously provided us their premises as a "home base" for the production. And provided us plenty of coffee, cake, lard bread and vodka - with the latter, of course, only in moderation.
All communication was first through Agnesha Kollien, our make-up artist, because she is the only one in the team to speak Polish. Later, however, everyone noticed how good it is to talk with hands and feet. Especially the dance group contributed, which arrived specially for us with the bus and immediately spread good mood. Agnesha Kollien's niece Wiktoria and Marzena Skibicka, our main character in front of the camera, danced happily. Actually, the place should be reserved here for a long thanksgiving: Rarely has our team experienced so much friendly accommodation and unconventional help as on this trip to Poland.
