Apple: That's why the new iPhones are not for everyone
Even if you're not exactly an Apple fan, you can not deny the company from Cupertino, California, its influence. Without the first iPhone, smartphones would probably not be what they are today. Even with the new iPhone Xs and the iPhone Xs Max, Apple has just released two really good devices that can convince both fans and trade press. Nevertheless, there are reasons that speak against the two smartphones.
For years the same game with the price
Yes, there have always been discussions about the prices of Apple products. This time, however, it has been exaggerated when it comes in the opinion of some users. Other smartphones cost sometimes four-digit sums, but none of the known competitors has a cell phone in the offer, which comes close to the price of 1,649 euros for the currently most expensive variant of the iPhone Xs Max. However, if you compare this amount with some luxury cell phones, these are still peanuts. The "Eclipse - Desiring Arcadia - Onyx Alligator" from the Swiss manufacturer Goldvish is covered in crocodile leather and set with 320 diamonds. Cost: 92,900 euros.
Latch is so 1999
First, no jack and then the adapter also falls away? Apple now waives the 3.5-millimeter jack for some time now. The adapter included in the scope of delivery of the predecessor must now be bought, if you do not have one. Many use Bluetooth headphones today anyway, but some might be happy to be able to use a conventional pair of wired headphones. Although the adapter costs only ten euros on the official website, with four-digit smartphone prices Apple could have settled the adapter but quiet.
The cheaper brother
If you can wait a little longer, you will soon be offered a cheaper alternative to the iPhone Xs and Xs Max, which also comes from Apple. The iPhone XR, which will be released on October 26, is already available from 849 euros and offers with its 6.1-inch display, a larger screen than the iPhone Xs (5.8 inches). However, no OLED display is used, but LCD technology. In addition, the XR is available in much more different colors - including in gaudy variants such as yellow and coral. Meanwhile, many of the built-in components are the same, including the so-called A12 bionic chip - the heart of the phone.
What about the innovation?
Without a doubt, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are two impressive smartphones, but compared to its predecessor, the iPhone X, there is simply a certain "killer feature" missing that makes upgrading from the older model quasi mandatory. The displays are brilliant, the back camera snaps the best pictures on an iPhone so far, the built-in chip is faster, the batteries last a bit longer ... There are many reasons for a change, but even if a noticeable difference to the iPhone X is offered, he is not so big that the older model would be obsolete.
Nice design from yesterday
The situation is similar with the attractive design of the new iPhones. Although the devices seem a bit more brilliant than before, the basic design differs as well as not from the iPhone X. The clearest distinguishing feature: In contrast to its predecessor, the iPhone Xs and Xs Max are now available not only in Silver and Space Gray, but also in Gold. However, the aforementioned colorful color alternatives are only offered on the iPhone XR.
