Aldi and Lidl: New competition from discounter "Centwelt"

"Lowest prices every day"? With this slogan, the Russian discounter "Centwelt" soon wants to snatch the market giants Aldi and Lidl from the buyers, reports the "Lebensmittel Zeitung".

The first branch of "Centwelt" will soon be opened on a former Aldi North site in Leipzig. However, a specific date has not yet been determined.

Can customers save more at "Centwelt"?

What should make the new discounter so special: food and housewares at real bargain prices.

There are supposed to be between 1500 and 2000 products in every Centwelt store.

In fact, cheap prices are indeed the core competence of Aldi, Lidl and Co. However, the two discounter chains are increasingly forced to expand their ranges and to include more expensive branded products on their shelves. In this gap "Centwelt" sees his chance.

In the near future, 100 "Centwelt" branches will be created in Germany. The company is currently looking for locations in Northern Germany, Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Brandenburg and Berlin.
