Who is afraid of the hospital?

The Eichwaldklinik is small, old-fashioned and the staff are not always the fastest. The St. Georg Hospital is the exact opposite: tall, modern and the head of the clinic always looking for the greatest possible profit. The houses must compete against each other in the competition for the subsidy of public funds - who loses, must close.

Who is afraid of the hospital?

Traditional and nice

The workforce sees little chance for their Eichwald Clinic. This plunges the employees into a worried crisis, as they have to provide convincing arguments to the Commission within just ten days so that their hospital will not be closed. Then the boss of the house, Professor Keller (Burghart Klaußner), has the saving idea: With a wellness concept and Werner Vierkötter (Josef Ostendorf), an expert in relaxation, the boss wants to win the race for public money.

Modern and unscrupulous

The St.Georg clinic is fighting with harder bandages. There, the head of the clinic Professor Radwanski (Christoph Maria Herbst) rules with a strictly modern, future-oriented regiment, always in search of profit. He does not spend much time looking for an innovative idea to save his clinic, but tries with nasty tricks and the female weapons of his lover. Christiane Tietz (Nina Kronjäger) to spy on the opposing hospital to outdo the opponent, with the knowledge to pull the commission members on the side of his hospital.

Who laughs last, laughs best

The staff of Eichwaldklinik strives to implement the feel-good factor in the clinic. But with the new idea and its implementation, the doctors have Wesemann (Carsten Strauch), Dr. med. Kunze (Rainer Ewerrien) and not least the Op-sister Sylvie Göbel (Cosma Shiva Hagen) so their difficulties. The fact that a much-needed donor kidney instead of the OR is on the plate of the fitness expert Vierkötter lands is only a mishap that undermines the staff of the traditional hospital before the Commission can announce its decision at a dramatic press conference.

Black humor and biting reality

As author, director and leading actor of the film, Carsten Strauch has dedicated his entire energy to his project. The spiteful allusions and the biting irony on the health situation in Germany can hardly escape, which is certainly not least because of the actor ensemble, which occurs with a prominent cast. Who likes comedy and black humor is certainly right in this film. But whether the reputation of the actor, which can polish up some crude plot of the film, one may doubt.
