Watermelon ice cream - so easy and refreshing!

In summer ? especially when the temperatures are climbing? We love fresh foods with a high water content that are not heavy in our stomach. Lightly chilled fruits are perfect as a dessert or small snack in the afternoon.

If you love ice cream but would rather go for a lighter alternative, it's really easy: Just put your favorite fruit in the freezer and then enjoy it ice-cold. Our favorite: watermelon on a stick. This can also be offered to critical children as THE "ice cream of the year" and make them happy.

Christine also came up with the idea of "Cook the Story". She simply cut the watermelon into small triangles and stabbed a wooden stick. After that, the watermelon pieces come into the freezer until they are frozen well. We recommend about three to four hours. Who does not like it completely frozen, but only good chilled, of course, the watermelon pieces earlier get out of the fridge.

Because watermelon consists mostly of water and has low calories overall, you can treat yourself to a few more servings of this ice cream - without any guilty conscience!

Nicecream brings a few extra calories, but it's just as easy and at least as delicious as Christine's Melon Ice Cream. You do not have to have a guilty conscience with this vegan, light ice cream variant of frozen bananas and vegetable milk.

With alcohol in the summer - especially at high temperatures - you should be careful. In the evening after the barbecue, when it is not so hot, you can treat yourself to a glass of wine. Christine has come up with a refreshing drink with white wine, watermelon and lemon - a so-called slush. A slush is a drink that is half frozen. It often contains lots of sugar and flavorings and dyes. Christine refuses (almost) completely. With it are only watermelon, lemon, white wine and a very small amount of sugar, which you can omit depending on your taste. The recipe: white wine slush

Also very refreshing on a hot summer evening: a (semi) frozen dessert. Granita or Granité is called that. A granita is comparable in consistency to a sherbet and is light and refreshing. Desserts of this kind are especially popular in southern countries. We'll try that out right away. Christine has modified the dessert for adults and added white wine. If you want to give up the alcohol, instead of water or lemonade. Recipe: Frozen dessert with watermelon and white wine
