Touching photos show the last moments that twins were allowed to spend together

Out of luck, a tragedy struck: Lyndsay Brentlinger from Ohio was thrilled to be pregnant with twins, but fate had a nasty surprise in store for them. She had even chosen the names of the two: William and Reagan. But in the course of the pregnancy, she received the fatal diagnosis: the lungs and heart of little William did not develop as they should. According to the doctors, he would probably not be able to experience his birth. The happier were Lyndsay and her partner Matthew, as both twins were born alive.

A doctor gave some hope to the parents to save their child's life with an operation, but the chances were very bad. So Lyndsay and Matthew wanted to enjoy and savor every second with their two children, and to give William as much love as would be possible in the short time together. A friend of the two knew how precious these moments were, and wanted to give them something to remember: She made contact with the professional photographer Lindsey Brown, who took pictures of the Brentlingers with their twins.

Lindsey was deeply impressed by the encounter - especially the natural handling of the parents with their twins. "They treated both children as if they were nothing, which was really touching.", She later told the Huffington Post.

The family was still allowed a common Christmas, then William died at the age of 11 days. To his parents remains the memory - and these photos that have captured the precious, shared moments of the two twins for eternity. "When Raegan is older, I will give her the photos," said Mother Lyndsay. "I will then tell her about her brother, who now watches over her as an angel in heaven."
