This is what all men with a beard have in common. At least according to study
Such a beard is not just a fashion, no, it embodies a whole life feeling. Many women even find that an accurately styled facial hair makes a man the right man, others think that a full beard would be megasexy. Bear bearers are at least very, very long hip.
We can of course speak for all here, in fact, tastes are fortunately different. It should give women who prefer tender and smooth cheeks. They can theoretically stop reading here. Unless they are still interested in research results around beards.
For Australian researchers have for a study that in the journal "Psychological Science? was published, found out what effect beards could have on social interaction.
More aggression?
For this study, 227 participants were presented with photos showing happy and angry faces with and without a beard. Based on these pictures should they? as fast as they could? tell if the face signals pleasure or aggression. To avoid mistakes, the researchers used four photos showing the same man.
The result: The angry, bearded faces stood out clearly, participants assigned them faster aggression than other photos. What can be deduced from this? That beards may amplify visual cues associated with anger: facial hair types are more likely to associate this feeling with clean-shaven ones. In addition, clean-shaven men were recognized more quickly than cheeky than full-bearded men.
Reassuringly, there were follow-up studies that showed that beards are not automatically associated with negative feelings. You could also see sadness in the clean-shaven boys. The question arises: Perhaps without a beard you can see better emotions in your face?
Do not be afraid of hipster beards!
Regardless, however, all-clear for anyone who is now a bit afraid of men with hipster beards:
1. Is it just a perception and not a question of how bearded are really on it? Basically, they are perceived as more aggressive and masculine, but this has zero to do with their actual potential for aggression
2. Bearded happy faces were also rated as more social than the happy shaved faces. That, on the other hand, would have to cancel the aggressive, right?
