That's why your apartment is ALWAYS messy

There are apartments that you can come to anytime and are always clean and tidy. Each time you get immediately a guilty conscience, because your own four walls are already sinking into chaos again. Do these people just do things fundamentally different than you? Because your apartment always makes a messy impression for some reason. We'll tell you why that is - and what you can do about it:

1. You let everything stand and lie

You like to cook, but the subsequent cleaning just annoys you. That's why you push the clearing and washing away in front of you until it's time to go to bed. Tomorrow is also a day. Then throw the clothes of the day over the armchair before showering. There, they afford the trousers of yesterday and the dress of the weekend good company. If you have time, then they come together in the laundry. Not correct!

Do something about it: It is not for nothing that they say, "What you can do today, do not delay tomorrow." Once you have the things in your hand, they'll clear out right away. Worn clothes belong in the laundry basket and dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The rest you wash by hand in less than five minutes and then in the closet with it. Already radiates the kitchen. With the one-hand rule, you'll always keep your home tidy.

Tip: For example, the dishes can be washed off while the pasta is cooking in the pan or the casserole is in the oven.

2. You build small piles everywhere

The postcard from your best friend, the letter from the insurance company, the mail order catalog and the magazine that you never read anyway - everything ends up on the small pile in the hallway. Later, you carry him to the apartment, where he can keep company with the many other piles. At some point you'll look through it, sort it out - and read the magazines for sure. Not correct!

Do something about it: Again, just do things the same way. Sort the advertisement from the mail pile (and attach a "no advertising" sign on the mailbox), put down important documents and pin the postcard of your best friend right to the fridge (for that you can finally take off your last vacation !). Everything is in its place. Magazines that you do not read cause only unnecessary chaos. Just order it or read it digitally. And do you really need the catalog of your favorite shop if you order everything online anyway? One e-mail is enough to switch to the electronic newsletter. All this can help, so that paper does not pile up unnecessarily.

3. You do not clean up as often as you should

Working, meeting friends, going to sports - you are busy. There is not much time left to clean up and clean up. And besides, you did not last week ... did you? No you have not! Sometimes memories are deceptive and weeks go by without you even touching a finger in the household. All in the belief that you had cleaned last week. Not correct!

Do something about it: Unfortunately, it is an incontrovertible fact that we have to clean up and clean regularly, so as not to sink in the dirt. A veritable Sisyphus work! Of course, you can cheat your apartment clean in 15 minutes for a visit, but that does not change the fact that you'll have to clean it thoroughly someday. A cleaning plan helps. That sounds worse than it is. Because: If you clean your apartment with system, it is much faster. And the more often you do a few more manipulations, the lower the effort.

4. You are attached to many things

It is always difficult to part with loved ones. And we do not mean photos or gifts from past lovers, but clothes that you have not worn for years, but in a distant future will surely wear again sometime, electrical appliances that have long stopped working, but the one time Gifts were, precious ballpoint pens with engraving, which no longer write, beautiful notebooks, in which not a single sentence stands, and even buttons, gift ribbon and funny postcards. At some point you will need it, right? Not correct!

Do something about it: The truth is that you will never use most things again and that you do not really need them. They only give you an indefinite sense of security. So you're scared to make a mistake if you throw her away. But the opposite is the case, because such useless collections pull you down in truth and seem like ballast. Mucking is therefore an important step in overcoming the chaos in your home. Because who owns less things, can leave less lying around. These three questions will help you decide if you should keep something or throw it away, and these tips will help keep things organized.

5. You have enemies in your ranks

Children, pets, careless housemates and stressed-out partners can all be the reason why your home just does not stay tidy - no matter how hard you try. If you have cleared away in one corner, everything is torn from the shelves in another corner. It's a fight against windmills that you can only lose ... right? Not correct!

Do something about it: You should not play the cleaning lady for anyone. Here help a clear announcement and possibly a cleaning plan. Establish rules together to help keep order. After playing, everything is put back in its place in the nursery, your partner will assist you with the laundry and do the dishes while you are responsible for cooking and vacuuming. And: Everyone puts away his stuff alone! You do not always have to do everything for everyone. Even pets can learn with clear messages what they are allowed to do and what not.

6. You are stricter with yourself than with others

You clean and clean up, but it just does not get clean and tidy with you? Not correct!

Do something about it: Just relax. The apartment is called apartment, because you should live in it. Do not spend too much time worrying about cleanliness and order. Of course, you are always stricter with yourself and your own home than with others. That means: Of course you do not see the little hidden dirty corners with your girlfriend. She, on the other hand, sees her for sure. So take a break and relax. If you regularly clean up and stick to the "One Handle Rule", you're on the safe side.
