Sweater with braids - that's what you need:

  • 400/400/450 g gray color 14 "yak merino" (30% virgin wool, 28% alpaca, 22% polyamide, 20% yak wool, running length 110 m / 50 g) by Lana Grossa
  • Knitting needles Nos. 4,5 and 5,5 if you knit loosely, or 5 and 6 if you knit tight - it is important that you come to the information in the stitch test
  • 1 pigtail needle
  • NOTE: It is possible that the given wool can not be bought anymore. In this case looks for a similar quality. Pay attention to the specified run length and make a stitch test!

Knitting sweaters with pigtails - how it works:

BUNDMUSTER (BM) with thin needle: 1 st at left, 1 st at right.

SMOOTH RIGHT (GR) with thick needle: Rowing right, back rows left.

DOUBLE TOP (DZ) over 12 M with thick needle: 1st R: All M right. All back rows: Knit the M on the left. 3rd + 5th R: All M right. 7th round: Put 3 sts on a pigtail needle behind the work, knit the next 3 sts on the right, then knit the 3 sts of the braid needle on the right, place 3 sts on a pigtail needle before work, knit the following 3 sts on the right, then the 3 sts Knit M the needle right. 9th R: All M right. Repeat the 1st to 10th Rs.

EASY PIECE (EZ) over 7 M with thick needle: 1st row: 2 sts left, 3 sts right, 2 sts left. All Back Orders: Knit the sts as they appear. 3rd round: 2 sts left, put 2 sts on a pigtail needle behind the work, knit the following sts on the right, then knit the 2 sts of the pigtail needle on the right, 2 sts left. Repeat the 1st to 4th Rs.

MASK TEST (GR): 14 M x 20 R = 10 x 10 cm

BACK PIECE: Cast on 76/82/88 sts with thin needle and knit 7 cm in BM. Continue with thick needle in GR knit. 31/29/27 cm from BM on both sides for the armholes on every other row. R 1 x 3 + 7 x 1 st = 56/62/68 sts. 17/19/21 cm from the beginning of the armholes for the shoulder bevel on both sides in each Cast off 2 sts for size S 1 x 2 + 4 x 3, for size M 3 x 3 + 2 x 4, for size L 5 x 4 sts, at the same time 1 cm from beginning of shoulder taper for neckline cast off middle 20 sts, finish both sides separately, bind off at the neckline in each row 4 times 1 st.



FRONT: Cast on 76/82/88 sts with thin needle and knit 7 cm in BM. Continue with thick needle in the following patterns: 27/30/33 sts in row, 7 sts in single row, 12 sts in double, split 4 sts, 7 sts in single row, 27/30/33 sts in size 80 / 86/92 sts. 31/29/27 cm from BM cast off the armholes as in the back piece = 60/66/72 sts. 12/14/16 cm from the beginning of the armholes for the neckline cast off the middle 16 sts and finish both sides separately , while still neckline every 2 R 2 x 2 + 4 x 1 sts off. 17/19/21 cm from the beginning of the armholes, slant the shoulders as in the back.

SLEEVE: Cast on 34 sts with a thin needle and knit 4 cm in BM. Continue to knit in the GR with a thick needle, for the skew on both sides for size S every 6 cm 5 x 1 st, for size M every 4 cm 8 x 1 st, for size L every 3 cm 11 x 1 st = 44/50 Cast off 56 cm from BM for arm ball on both sides in each row 18 x 1 sts, then cast off the remaining 8/14/20 sts.

PREPARATION: Close the shoulder seams and pick up approx. 80 sts at the neckline with a thin needle and knit 8 cm in the BM, then bind off all sts loosely and sew in half the panel inwards. Close the side seams. Close the sleeve seams and sew in the sleeves.
