Ring with rose

Seller "Bling-Bijoux" from DaWanda.de shows you how to make this silver ring in just a few steps!

Required materials and tools:

  • flat-nosed pliers
  • Wire cutter
  • 31cm of (22 gauge / 0.6mm wire gauge) sterling silver wire
  • Ring thorn or something else round to bend the wire

1st to 3rd work step

1. Cut off 31 cm of Sterling Silver Wire from the roll.

2. Lay the wire a little further over the desired ring size (about 1/2 size further).

2. Wrap the wire around the ring mandrel three times. Note that the ends on each side are the same length.

4th and 5th step

4. Cross the wire ends one over the other - while pressing firmly against each other, press the wire loops firmly against the ring mandrel.

5. Now wrap the wire loops in a circle (do not twist the wire, just lay it round in a circle).

6th and 7th step

6. Continue to wrap the wire in a circle until you are satisfied with the appearance of the rose (or until there is 3.5 cm of wire left at each end).

7. Finally, wrap each wire end around the ring shaft three times, then cut off the remaining ends. Use a pair of flat-nose pliers to press the wire firmly against the ring. Now push the ring again on the ring thorn as far as possible to "smooth out" any bends and to perfect the curves.

oxidation

The ring can be left in its natural state or it can be oxidized.

There is an environmentally friendly way to oxidize silver. Simply cook for about eight minutes an egg - then open like a breakfast egg and put the ring in a Tupperdose and seal. After one hour the process is finished.
