Ingredients for the raspberry jam

In this raspberry jam simple conditions prevail: up 1 kg of washed raspberries come 500 g jam sugar (2:1) and 1 vanilla pod.

Cooking raspberry jam - step by step

  1. Put raspberries and sugar in a large saucepan and mix well. Cut in the vanilla pod and scratch out the pith. Put the pith and pod in the pot.
  2. Bring the raspberries to a boil while stirring constantly and then boil for exactly 3 minutes. Set the clock!
  3. Remove the vanilla pod. Fill the jam to the full in prepared, clean screw-cap jars.
  4. Close the jars tightly and turn upside down for 10 minutes. This creates a vacuum.

Tip: The jam stays particularly fruity when it is frozen in the glasses. Then do not fill the glass completely, otherwise it can burst.

  • According to this recipe jam also succeeds with other fruits.
  • Instead of vanilla, cook the peeled peel off a lime.
  • Finally, add 1 to 2 glasses of fruit brandy to the jam.
