Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel: Economical cat
Four cylinders, eight gears: the Jaguar XF 2.2 diesel
I saw him again this morning - the jumping Jaguar on a car hood. Symbolic figure for class, power and dynamics, perfect fit for the eponymous saloon sedan. Meanwhile, the grille of a more dynamic-looking Jaguar XF 2.2 graces. Diesel but only a cat's head badge, the protection of pedestrians. What I'm fine, but totally pity.
All the more impressive is the technical premiere of the 2.2-liter turbo diesel, according to self-PR of the most fuel-efficient Jaguar ever. The 190-horsepower engine is satisfied with four cylinders, is with its new eight-speed gearbox still very fast on the road and reduces thanks to a specially developed, very responsive stop / start system, the consumption of the Jaguar XF 2.2 diesel to 5.4 list liters.
The quiet driving sounds disappear almost completely when I turn on the 17-speaker-strong sound system full. Something too restless I find only the wood-metal mix in the interior decor and a little too fashionable the knob instead of a lever.
But sporty driving and still gliding gently, that was and remains Jaguar for me. Even without a cat on the hot cooler.
