Harvey Weinstein: Video shows his disturbing behavior
The innumerable allegations against the former film mogul Harvey Weinstein (66) are now as well-known as they are shocking. All women who raise charges of sexual harassment or even rape against him have been given a strong voice in the person of entrepreneur Melissa Thompson. And with a video from 2011, the Thompson have now come to the US site "Sky News" and shows how she is apparently massively pressed and groped during a meeting with Weinstein.
It starts right at the welcome. Instead of reaching for his hand, Weinstein hugs the then 28-year-old and rubs her back for a few seconds. As soon as he is seated, he immediately asks if he can flirt with her - a question on whose answer he does not seem to take any account in the following minutes.
It is visibly uncomfortable
More and more nervous Thompson acts in the video. At one point you can hear them saying, "That's a bit high" - and suggests that Weinstein has begun to reach out to her thigh or even under her skirt. He also touches her arm again and makes lewd remarks. In the related interview with "Sky News," Thompson, who also worked in the shark tank on Wall Street before the meeting, says, "I've never met anyone I could not argue with, and then I met Harvey Weinstein."
Weinstein had played "cat and mouse" with her throughout the entire meeting, acting as if he would break the intended deal at any time should she resist his advances. Later, another meeting had come-to conclude the deal, as Thompson thought. But instead Weinstein had raped her in his hotel room, so the serious charge.
That says the other side
Weinstein's lawyers have already commented on "Sky News". One of them, Benjamin Brafman, is quoted as saying, "Some respected journalists and trusted people have seen the entire video." These should have confirmed to him that the video in its entirety shows how a "flirting from both sides" can be seen. The video is already approved as evidence in the class action lawsuit against the former Hollywood producer.
