Donald and Melania Trump in Texas - heavy criticism for style performance

Thousands of people have lost everything, the water is meter high in the streets - the situation in Texas is catastrophic (more in our news ticker). US President Donald Trump has now paid a visit to the affected area - and receives a lot of criticism with his performance.

While Trump appears to be doing well as a hurricane disaster manager and is always close to the "Situation Room" where the important decisions are made, the style of Donald and Melania causes a sensation.

1 .: On high heels into the disaster area

Already on departure to Texas, many observers rubbed their eyes in bewilderment: Is Melania Trump flying high-heeled into the disaster area? It's (felt to be) the first major official use of the First Lady - and it looks like many people are walking on the catwalk. Sunglasses, bomber jacket, high heels - Melania is obviously on display.

2nd: The thing with the cap

Arriving in Texas, Melania Trump then slipped into comfortable sneakers - but now she made with her headgear for excitement (and that she still wore her sunglasses in the dark). While Donald Trump wore a white cap with the inscription "USA", Melania had a cap with the word "FLOTUS" on it - the abbreviation for "First Lady of the United States". We would have recognized you as well, dear Melania - so why this striking appearance?

Criticism, however, was also beyond the style factor: The cap of the President is namely to buy - for $ 40 in the Trump shop. A president who uses a catastrophe to advertise his products? No wonder it hails criticism.

3. Trump as an avid little boy

Trump worried again with his Twitter posts for shaking his head. Not only did he use the short message service in the midst of the catastrophe to talk about trivialities, book recommendations and (as always) political opponents attacked - in his tweets to Hurricane Harvey always swinging fascination with the extent of the disaster. So the President tweeted about the historical extent of Harvey with a "Wow" and was too enthusiastic about his critics for a situation that causes so much suffering.

Wow - Now experts are calling #Harvey a once in 500 year flood! We have all the effort, and going well!

Donald Trump in the disaster area - nobody could have expected that there would be no criticism after this first truly serious assignment by the US president. However, did Trump make his opponents really easy?

Let's hope that from now on everyone will be especially concerned to help the people who are suffering from the tropical storm!
