diarrhea

home remedies

Dried apples or dried blueberries (health food) help against mild diarrhea. Instant soups (clear broth) compensate for water and salt loss. Good is also black tea with sugar and a pinch of salt. Self-medication: Tormentil root tea contains tannins that soothe the intestines. Add 1? 2 teaspoons of it with 1 cup of boiling water, pour through a sieve after 15 minutes. Drink 3 cups of the tea daily.

Alternative medicine

Ayurveda drink: Mix 1? 2 cups of natural yoghurt with 1? 2 cup of water. Add 1? 2 teaspoons of freshly pressed ginger juice (rub a ginger root and squeeze it through a cloth) and add 1 to 4 teaspoons of nutmeg powder to the mixture. Take the drink slowly and swallowed.

When to the doctor?

In case of fever, extremely strong diarrhea (more than eight times a day) or a strong feeling of illness to the doctor. In addition, if the diarrhea persists for more than three days. Attention: with small children already to the doctor, if the strong diarrhea lasts longer than one day. They are particularly sensitive to salt and fluid loss. This can even make babies dehydrate.
