Dad Sneakers: Beautiful is sometimes pretty boring
In the past, they were the epitome of the stuffy, lawn-mowing town-dad. Today, stars and models like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid wear the briquette-like shoemaking with oversized soles and brightly colored seams.
Surprising, especially given the fact that the fashion industry has just discovered technologically advanced, ultralight models, for example, made of recycled plastic for themselves.
Instead, one wears now, preferring to ruffled summer dresses and floral skirts shoes that consist of about twice as much material as necessary and were legitimately named even after their own ugliness.

Chunky, practical, good?
Is this just one of those trends that we will soon be looking back on, with regret and embarrassment? Or maybe a kind of silent rebellion in the fight for gender equality?
Because you have to let these shoes: Unlike the overly feminine catwalk classics such as high-heels (as well as most men's shoes) dad sneakers are actually comfortable. They offer their wearer a secure footing and allow relaxed hours of walking around. In addition, they refuse nostalgically inspired ways to bow to the still current conventions of femininity and beauty.

Everyone should now know: the inner values count
We women really enjoy classic beauty. But if you reduce yourself to what you look like, it will reduce your enthusiasm enormously. Because of course you should not have to wear monster truck-like shoes to be respected.
But if this fashionable impertinence is a sign that we're fed up with being labeled as less steadfast and solid than we are, then it's well worth the mild horrified looks of colleagues, friends and other male fellow human beings.
So let's end with the secret envy of the dysfunctional, yet socially capable treadle of the office neighbor. End the sorrow filled shopping afternoons, when blistering patches end up giving more pleasure than the shopping itself. No more daring shaky aisles over gravel and other uneven ground.
Whether one should now spend full of fighting spirit a medium fortune for dad sneakers is an open question, but how do you say so beautiful: the thought counts. And sometimes there are more important things than looking beautiful, we all think often enough.
