Aromatic orange cake

Recipe for half a baking sheet Difficulty: light Working hours: 25 minutes Baking time: 20 minutes

Ingredients - that's what you need:

  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2 eggs, medium size
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 150 g of flour
  • Just a coated TL baking powder
  • 3-4 large tablespoons orange marmalade
  • 4-5 untreated (organic) oranges

That's how it's done:

To the soft margarine in a bowl, add the sugar, eggs, cornflour, flour and baking powder. Mix with the dough hooks of the mixer at the highest level to a smooth dough.

Grease a baking sheet - or only half of it - or lay it out with parchment paper. With a folded strip of aluminum foil cut the baking sheet in half. Put the dough on the prepared baking sheet half and smooth it out.

Brush the oranges under warm water and then cut into slices about three millimeters thick. Overall, depending on size, 15 to 21 discs are needed. The shell is not separated! Overlapping with the orange slices, fully cover the dough. Bake the cake at 200 degrees (convection 180 degrees, gas level 3) for about 20 minutes.

Then let the cake cool a little and stir the orange jam until smooth. This can also be heated a bit before. Now completely glaze the top of the cake with the jam. And after it has dried, may be served.

Enjoy the preparation - and good appetite!
