A mobile for Christmas

"Three years ago, I went looking for alternatives to the classic Christmas tree and found a variety of more or less convincing ideas. My best discoveries range from the wall tattoo fir Masking Tape (Miss Klein has such a wall decoration for the ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Christmas blogger from the Christmas tree to the lampshade tree, which was used for the last two Christmas days at our home.

For the Christmas blogger I have a nice, easy and easy? given the short time to go to Christmas? Wanted fast to tinker pine alternative. Inspired by the current mobile trend, I came up with the idea for a Christmas tree mobile.

For the mobile at Christmas you need:

  • 3 to 10 thin wooden round rods à 100 cm (available at the hardware store or handicraft shop.) Alternatively, you can use branches.)
  • Parcel string (the monochrome classic or colored variants)
  • Christmas tree ornaments

That's how it's done:

Cut wooden round rods to different lengths (2 bars each for one length, see Fig. 1)

Connect the two wooden rods of equal length crosswise (Fig. 2)

Bind together the different size wooden crossbows according to their size (Fig. 3). (The bigger the Christmas tree mobile should be, the more crosses it needs.)

Hang up your Christmas mobile and decorate as you like (Fig. 4).

Finished!

As a great paper lover, I have adorned our Christmas Tree Mobile with homemade Christmas ornaments from waste paper. That looks nice and is also environmentally friendly by the way.

The instructions can be found here:

I wish you a lot of fun crafting and continue a beautiful, creative Advent season!
