7 Hygiene mistakes you should avoid in the bathroom

In the bathroom, some bacteria cavort. And even if you think, "Everything is clean with me," there are some things you should be aware of.

The New York University Medical Center has discovered that so-called aerosol is released in every toilet flush. This creates a kind of cloud of toilet water drops. This floats around in the room and bursts after a short time? and not directly above your toilet, but where it is. And thus also spread the bacteria contained therein. This is not harmful to health, but you should avoid some mistakes in the future with this knowledge:

Error 1: Leave the toilet lid open

With the knowledge of this Klowasser cloud, you do not want to imagine where these drops will eventually come down and possibly even put on your toothbrush. A closed lid is also purely visually much nicer.

Error 2: Take the phone with you on the toilet

Not only on the toilet itself, but also surfaces such as door handles, faucets and toilet flushes have traces of fecal matter. Especially on public toilets it is not recommended to take the phone with you or even lay it on the floor. Also when flushing, the water splashes with urine and feces in all directions and could get to your cell phone that you hold in your hand. Studies even show that a quarter of all handbags have traces of feces.

Mistake 3: Store beauty utensils open

Keyword: Klowasser cloud! That's why you should store everything in a bathroom cabinet or in culture bags in the future. But in general, it is not nice if your makeup utensils dust or settle by airing pollen and the like on your brushes and cotton swabs.

Mistake 4: Do not wash hands

After the toilets gang an absolute must! But also before the make-up you should always wash your hands. Countless germs cling to them, even if you are a well-groomed person. Therefore, brushes or sponges are recommended for applying, for example, foundation.

Error 5: Do not clean utensils

So that the germs can not multiply in the first place, you should replace or clean your brushes, sponges and towels weekly. For towels, strictly speaking, the 3-day rule applies. But soap dispensers should always be wiped off and not just wiped around.

Mistake 6: Grow bacteria on toothbrush

Every two to three months, the toothbrush should be changed at the latest according to AOK Dental Clinic Rhineland / Hamburg. Bacteria that can cause not only gingivitis, but also colds, hold onto her. Incidentally, the toothbrush should be kept upside down in the toothbrush cup and, above all, not in the bathroom cabinet, but in the air.

Mistake 7: Make bath to the greenhouse

In the bathroom, moisture and heat meet? and that's the perfect environment for bacteria to multiply. Whether towels or other utensils, which are damp by the steam of the shower or by the wet towel, must be dried. That means: Towels belong to the heater and brushes and sponges should not be put under any circumstances damp in boxes. Only when it is dry, bacteria have no chance.
