She is used to being a Wiesn waitress in the Schützenzelt, but this time it was not about steins or plates: At the "Oktoberfest Special" the TV quiz show "Wer wird Millionär?" Munich's Michaela Maier conceded half a million euros on Monday evening with the help of the public. Thus she became the 63rd half-millionaire in the long success story of the show (since 1999).
It could have been even more, because host Günther Jauch (62) asked for the 83rd time the million question, and Michaela Maier would have known the answer. "Which was the very first piece that was performed in the Augsburger Puppenkiste?" The correct answer was "The Puss in Boots", but she did not dare and so it remained at the still stately 500,000 euros. With the money, she will be trained to become a sommelier, a waitress specializing in drinks.
But not only Maier was happy, the station RTL also had cause for joy. Because 5.44 million viewers switched on at the Wiesn-Special. This made the show the most watched show in primetime.
