Which baby names are trendy? Or are just a hit with young parents? It's difficult to predict that. But you get a clue, if you look at what boys and girls names people currently looking at Google.

Because before expectant parents decide on a first name, they usually enter it into the search engine. For example, they learn what the name means, where it comes from, or what famous namesakes are there.

We asked Google which boy names Germans are looking for most this year.

Here is the top 10 list for 2016:

Striking in this list is that "Leo" leads them by a long way. According to Google, he was searched almost three times as often as the second-placed boy name, Milan.

The suspicion arises that a certain actor, who got an Oscar in February, plays a big part in it. Maybe he will immortalize himself with his name soon in our birth register ...
