"This is us"With these words, the mom blogger Sarah Nicole Landry alias" thebirdspapaya "begins her emotional post to her collection of tummy photos on Instagram.

A few months ago I asked in my stories: What is your biggest insecurity? And an overwhelming majority answered: 'my belly'. I know that feeling way too well.

Sarah Nicole Landry also suffered for a long time from the feeling that her stomach was no longer beautiful after the births of her three children had drawn their skin. Her stomach is covered by stretch marks.

But she wanted to free herself from that sense of shame for something that is "so normal." That's why she asked her followers on Instagram for photos of her bellies.

I wanted to show YOU. I wanted you all to see how different and beautiful we all are. I wanted to show you how many different bellies there are. Those that they do not show us on TV and in magazines. The bellies that accompany us every day.

Dozens of women sent Sarah her photos, comments like "This is the first time in 14 years that my stomach sees a camera", "This is my biggest secret", "I have never taken a picture of my stomach before"," NNot once my husband has ever seen this here"...

This, is us. ? A few months back I asked in my stories :? "what is your biggest insecurity?" ? and the majority, overwhelmingly said - their stomach / belly / tummy. ? I knew this feeling all too well. ? I know I'm freed myself by sharing it, and removing it. ? But I wanted to SHOW you.? I wanted you all to see how different and beautiful we all are.? I wanted to show you bellies of all varieties. The ones they do not show us in tv and magazines. ? But the ones that walk among us everyday. ? ? So, I asked you to send them to me.? ? What I did not expect was the responses like :? "this is the first time in 14 years my stomach has seen a camera"? "this is my biggest secret"? "I have never taken a photo of my stomach before"? "not even my husband since this"? ? I realized that this little project was much bigger than me. ? I got choked up several times while compiling this.? Years of feelings, combined with a flood of stories and pairing it all together. ? ? And this, the result, is a piece of freaking ART.? ? In this photos you will see :? Postpartum? Pregnancy? C-section? Weight loss? Tummy Tucks? Colostomy? Beating Cancer? Dying of Cancer? Corrective Surgery? Eating Disorder Recovery? And every bit in between.? ? Please take a moment to honor each of them. Honoring each other, and yourselves.? ? May we feel free today of that feeling of shame and loneliness in our bodies.? May we remember that we did not put on this earth to feel bad about our bellies.? ? And thank you, to each one of you. ? You never know who you may have impacted today.

Signs of cancer, pregnancies, cesarean sections, weight loss

Sarah Nicole is completely overwhelmed by the huge response to her call. "I quickly realized that this project is much bigger than expected. I was speechless so many times when I put these pictures together. Years of emotions, a flood of stories, and that's how it came about? a crazy piece of ART."

Every belly of a woman seen in these pictures has a story of its own.

In these pictures you can see: after birth, pregnancy, cesarean section, weight loss, tummy tuck, colostomy, cancer defeated, suffering from cancer, beauty surgeries, eating disorders and everything in between.

Sarah Nicole Landry asks:

Please, take a moment to honor all these stories. Honor each other, honor yourself.

Your big wish:

That we feel a little freer today, from the feeling of shame and the feeling of being alone with our bodies. May we remember that we are not on this earth to feel bad about our bellies.

Sarah ends her emotional post with a big thank you to all the women who were so brave to send her photos: "Thank you all for joining in and sharing your photos with me. You never know whose life you may have changed today."

We think: a great action! Thank you very much for these impressive pictures that make it so beautiful, that every woman? completely independent of all beauty ideals? be proud of her bodywho does so much for us every day, in which babies grow and who does everything every second, so that we can enjoy our lives full of love and joy.
